“The Church, in response to the ever present inspiration of the Holy Spirit, is continually pouring new wine into new wineskins. This perpetual renewal results from the Spirit’s ongoing revelation of Christ’s mission for His Church. Revealed both in time and tradition, the revelation of the gospel message for today is the new, robust wine. Hearts open to receive that message are the new wineskins, prepared to carry the wine of God’s Word, for Whom the whole world thirsts, into the circumstances of everyday life.
 
The responsibility of all the baptized in every age is to receive the new wine of God’s desire for the Church into fresh, renewed wineskins. By doing so, we build up the Body of Christ, the Church, in our homes, our parishes, our communities, and our world.
 
At the parish level, a primary instrument for the flow of the new wine into new wineskins is the Parish Pastoral Council. This leadership body discerns the mission of the parish and envisions the ways in which the parish membership is being called by God to carry out that mission. To further aide the pastoral council in their mission the Stewardship Council was formed to cultivate the gifts of our parish family, to focus their lives on using their God-given gifts of time talent and treasure to praise and honor God. The First Letter of Peter 4:10 says: “As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace.”
 
Assisting the pastor with the temporal and financial responsibilities of the parish is the mission of the Finance Council who advises the pastor in the management of the treasures offered by our parish families and the disbursement of those funds to support the ministerial and administrative needs of the parish.

In an effort to provide oversight across parish’s programs and councils, the Education Council is an advisory body to the pastor. The council helps to formulate and evaluate the effectiveness of policies for the educational programs of the parish community, including adult education, religious education, sacramental preparation, the youth ministry, the early childhood education program, and the school.
